Dambulla Cave Temple: It has five caves and 157 statues of the Lord Buddha, many paintings on the ceilings and walls that emphasis the artistic talent of ancient days. The history of the caves, rock and temple dates back from the 1st century BC. It declared as one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in 1991.

The relic has grown in repute and holiness in Sri Lanka throughout the Buddhist world because he enshrined the teeth of Shakyamuni, a symbol of power and land, and a national treasure of Sri Lanka. It was declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1988.
